BeautifulBurnout the Guardian’s Comment is Free Barrister throws in the towel
Did she jump or was she pushed?
On Tuesday 19 February 2012 BeautifulBurnout – or Mrs Bootstrap as she is affectionately known made what must be the biggest blunder of her long and distinguished career on Comment is Free.
Responding to a post by a poster named CommentCanBeFree she launched into a scathing attack on me, who at the time was on my way to a live jazz session.

You were banned from CiF for stalking people and being an ass.
You’ve been banned from all the CiF related sites for stalking people and being ass.
Now you have set up your own website so you can….oooh! I know! Stalk people and be an ass!!
For the uninitiated, FOB stands for “Fuck off Bitey”, once the most frequent response from the Untrusted cabal to anything I posted on MontanaWildhack’s site.
As it happens, at 8:08pm pm onTuesday I was on the 19:40 London Overground train from Highbury and Islington to NewCross, where I crossed the road and entered the Amersham Arms where I remained until 11pm or so, listening to HOLLER.
Formed by bassist Ryan Trebilcock in late 2008, Holler combines some of the hottest young talent from the London scene. Trebilcock’s hypnotic, labyrinthine originals create a compelling sound-world full of intense grooves and raw, assertive improvising. Not only that, they have all played at our night with their own ensembles, including Empirical and the Gareth Locrane Big Band.
So MrsBootstraps owes CommentCanBeFree a rather large apology, although as her CiF “Profile is not available”, she’ll need to work out another way of doing so.
