A Trek on Sanqing Mountain, Jianxi Province, China, October 2018

The 1817 metre high Sanqing Mountain, Jianxi Province, China

Start of the trek at 12.26 and the easy bit

There are two cable cars on the south and north east sides of the mountain but they are for the tour parties who arrive by bus, ride to the terminus, wander around, take selfies and then are hustled back by the tour guides. But there is a paved walking route through the forest.

The harder bit with 3 hours of climb to go.

In the background the highest of the three peaks.

Approaching the cable car terminus at 14.00 and the clouds descend

This really is an amazing piece of engineering

After almost 4 hours and the start of the descent down all those steps to reach the gate with just 30 minutes before it was locked for the night. Then two kilometres down the road for dinner.
